Duties
Serve as the Director of Facility Management for physical plant Operations and Maintenance and Hospital Aseptic Management System (HAMS) operations for the 673d Medical Group, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Alaska
Responsible to promote and maintain a safe and functional environment of care during peace time operations and war time contingencies.
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Serve as a facility specialist and functions as the staff authority for the 673d Medical Group commander on the operations, maintenance repair and improvement of the Medical Group.
Support a mission that functions as a military treatment facility which provides primary, tertiary as well as referral care in a highly advanced care environment with state of art equipment/technology that includes specialized Operating Rooms.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This positon requires on-call.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random drug testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Overtime, holiday and weekend work schedule may be required.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, performing two or more of the following: assisting in managing a building or facilities maintenance program; providing oversight of repair and replacement components for buildings; monitoring equipment cost or use; ensure construction code or standards are in compliance; assist with developing statement of work; conducting maintenance inspections or surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above)
