Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Review Systems Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Being responsible for the administrative and direct support services relative to the Division of Grant Review.
Developing forms and other documents used to collect and organize information in the peer review process.
Utilizing various quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques, preparing written analyses and option papers based on research.
Planning and carrying out special projects in support of the review for all grant and cooperative agreement applications.
Projecting cover the technical support process including committee management, administration, communications, organization, distribution of work, workflow, reporting relationships.
Overseeing and initiating the multi- stepped, complex administrative and planning process of the overall grant review process.
Assisting with the planning, coordinating, developing, and providing oversight for the peer and objective review of grants.
** Duties as shown are at the full performance level (FPL) of the GS-12. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the FPL.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
For GS-09: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following:
Assisting in administrative tasks related to grants.
Participating in workgroups to streamline processes and procedures.
Utilizing grant management systems to conduct peer reviews or for reporting purposes.
Applying analytical and/or evaluative methods and techniques to identify, consider, and/or resolve issues associated with grants.
Communicating orally and/or in writing to provide guidance, recommendations, respond to inquiries or prepare reports related to peer reviews.

Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

Combination: Education and experience may be combined to meet the specialized experience requirement as described above. In order to qualify for thisposition based on a combination, you must submit transcripts. Please see the "Required Documents" section of this announcement for more information.
For GS-11: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following:
Performing administrative tasks related to grants.
Conducting or leading workgroups to streamline processes and procedures related to grants or contracts.
Utilizing grant management systems to conduct peer reviews.
Applying analytical and/or evaluative methods and techniques to the identify, consider, and/or resolve issues associated with grants.
Leading the peer review process of applications for discretionary grants, which includes communicating both orally and in writing to explain recommendations, respond to inquiries or prepare reports.

Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.

For GS-12: You must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following:
Using a variety of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to identify and resolve complex issues and problems associated with the review process.
Participating in workgroups to streamline and improve processes and procedures related to grant reviews.
Applying analytical and/or evaluative methods and techniques to the identify, consider, and resolve issues associated with grants.
Communicating both orally and writing to explain peer review guidance, recommendations, respond to inquiries or prepare reports.
** There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 grade level of this announcement.
