About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Duties
Serve as the Installation Unit Movement Coordinator, synchronizing and de-conflicting priorities during air, land, and rail movements.
Work closely with higher headquarters, strategic, tactical, local movement coordinators, and commercial movement organizations in providing technical assistance to accomplish efficient movement of personnel and cargo.
Maintain liaison with units and staff agencies for coordinating air departure times with military and commercial transportation service providers.
Review load plans to ensure vehicles/cargo are utilized to maximum for loading items of organizational equipment and accompanying supplies and, determine appropriate shipping configuration necessary to enable vessel loading.
Oversee the review and validation of a variety of automated unit movement data that is used to order multiple modes of transportation.
Advise deploying/mobilizing units on their mobilization plans; and provide assistance on numerous aspects of deployment operations using automated information systems to move units through the deployment process.
Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for designated contracts. Support the organization in the development and management of contracts and requirements packages as they relate to transportation.
Perform a full range of supervisory responsibilities including but not limited to planning, assigning, and evaluating work of subordinates; and making decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors/leaders.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing work concerned with the planning, development, and/or execution of traffic policies and/or programs; 2) Managing programs related to the transportation of personnel and/or cargo; 3) Assisting in managing transportation contracts; and 4) Leading projects and/or personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
