You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT DIVISION of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will provide technical advice to management to assist them in developing position descriptions. You will advise managers on the position classification process, the use of various classification references and automated tools. You will develop, modify and conduct basic and refresher training on various classification policies and procedures for management and other HR personnel. You will participate in Continuous Process Improvement Initiatives (CPI) and efficiency projects and studies with other HR personnel related to HR issues and processes. You will provide services in a variety of classification programs that impact compensation and classification.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as a consultant to managers in providing federal HR services and conducting detailed analyses of complex functions within serviced organizations; 2) Understanding of a wide range of HR specialization concepts, practices, regulations, precedents, and procedures sufficient to conduct desk audits, review management requests for classification actions, interpret and apply position classification standards to positions and determine the correct pay category, occupational series, title, and grade level; 3) Understanding of guidelines in order to determine proper coding regarding Fair Labor Standards Act, Drug Testing, Acquisition coding, etc.; 4) Understanding of position management in order to advise managers in properly aligning positions within their workforce.
