About the Position: Serves as a Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator at Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and is responsible for working with the calibration and repair of a wide range of calibration standards.

Duties

Serve as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical principles to calibrate and certify equipment. Apply and interpret electronic principles and practices to collect, reduce, display, and analyze calibration data for a wide variety of complex general and special purpose. Prepare calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated. Modify and occasionally develops technical procedures required by changing user or equipment requirements. Serve as the workload dictates, as a specialist in physical/dimensional and ionizing radiation calibration.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • This position is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties

Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
