This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as an Engineering Technician with the Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Prepare government cost estimates on projects which are to be worked by in-house teams or external contractors. Develop direct cost pricing by selecting the methods of construction and preparing a detailed equipment, labor and materials cost breakdown. Review all engineering drawings, plans, specifications, standards, regulations and other applicable references. Study and interpret basic design data and reviews completed plans and specifications to identify discrepancies or to detect omissions.

• Must obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license
• Subject to call back 24 hours a day 7 days a week, as required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes\ (1)preparing project scope and government cost estimates; (2) preparing or editing contract documents (e.g., Performance Work Statement, PWS; Statement of Work, SOW); (3) manage purchase card program for Division; (4) initiate and process purchase requests in an automated system such as the Army' General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS); and (5) prepare, review, and edit drawings, schematics, sketches, and specifications in electronic format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
