This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Maintain stock control for parts and tools. Maintain documentation for requisition and justification of equipment’s. Perform semi-annual inventories of stock. Handle and turn-in of hazardous waste and materials. Operate a 15,000-pound forklift to load and unload items off another vehicle. Perform work utilizing the automated database, Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army), to open, close, maintain, schedule and manage work orders.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifications

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Tools and Parts Attendant (Motor Vehicle Operator/Forklift Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. Maintain control of tools and parts. Perform inventories of tools and parts along with performing turn-ins as required in accordance with established standards and procedures; and operate a Motor Vehicle or Forklift as needed in the performance of duties. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require constant standing, walking, stooping, and bending; when working on the computer terminal may require prolonged periods of sitting. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds; occasionally handles heavier items. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed indoors in areas that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated area which occasionally is draft. Occasionally exposed to outside elements when traveling between shops and other installation locations. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises and strains. Work is sometimes dusty, dirty and greasy.
