Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Safety Enforcement Division (SED), and is located in Washington, DC.
At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Working with collaborative groups to develop bureau-wide policy to include, but not limited to providing input on policy correspondence, directives, proposed legislation and regulations, reports, decision documents, and budgetary proposals.
Working with subject matter experts to define guidelines for enforcement decision-making to include supporting the drafting of directives and policy documents related to civil penalty and enforcement.
Data review and analysis to include reviewing case files, vital statistics, and other data to highlight trends and identify risks.
Support the strategic plan and it's goals through teams, initiatives, and projects.
Attend agency workgroups and taskforce meetings with other agencies where civil penalties, policy, and program implementation are discussed. The incumbent will serve as the SED representative on bureau and departmental teams and workgroups to ensure inclusion of the national enforcement office.
BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the incumbent may telework upon supervisory approval.
Salary Range Information (Per Annum): First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Basic Educational Requirements AND/OR (2) Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1) Experience working in teams to assist in developing guidance, operating procedure, etc. relating to enforcement tools and processes;
2) Experience assisting with writing policy relating to national enforcement strategies;
3) Experience in responding to stakeholder requests regarding enforcement options and processes;
Must meet all.

3) Contributing to a system-wide programmatic analysis for an organization.
