This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Health, Safety, and Work-Life (HSWL) Regional Practices in the Work-Life Department, Seattle, WA.

Duties

The position implements the Coast Guard Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program in the field, according to guidance provided in Commandant Instruction (COMDTINST) M1754.10 (series), and such other directives as may be issued by competent authorities. The incumbent plans, directs, consults, monitors, coordinates, formulates, organizes, develops, administers, evaluates, trains, networks, publicizes, and budgets all program components including, training, mandatory reporting requirements and a wide range of services involving the SAPR Program in their geographic area of responsibility (AOR). Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Administering, planning, directing, managing, monitoring, educating, developing, implementing, marketing, evaluating, training and consulting, on all aspects of the CG SAPR Program.

Qualifications

You qualify at the GS-12 grade level if you meet of the following requirements: Basic Requirement: (Please note, if you are using education to qualify under the basic requirements - you will need to include transcripts in your application package) Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND Additional Requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Some examples of specialized experience are: Assisting with planning, directing, consulting, monitoring, coordinating, formulating, organizing, developing, administering and evaluating an agency's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program. Responding to high visibility situations about SAPR that require sound judgment, diplomacy and professional demeanor. Conducting trainings as required for a SAPR Program. Integrating and coordinating prevention and response efforts across a broad range of behavioral health programs such as Family Advocacy, Employee Assistance, or Substance Abuse Prevention. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
