About the Position: This position is with the National Guard Bureau, G-1, Governance Section, Arlington, VA.
About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Direct the planning, programming and execution of Information Technology support and requirements for all G1 Human Resource systems.
Identify contract requirements to manage and resource G1 Information Technology systems and materials to support the mission and vision.
Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Brief the resources process to include the performance of command level planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) cycles for automation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.

GS-14: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: determining contractor performed work meets standards of adequacy necessary for authorization of payment; recommending selections for subordinate positions; developing detailed plans, tasks, milestone dates and schedules to ensure proper sequencing of events and tracking of processes and costs through the life cycle of the programs/projects; managing short and long range planning activities that include multi-year plans that are the products of organizational projects/programs; identifying information system issues or concerns and brief leadership on solutions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-13 or equivalent).
