About the Position: This position is located with the Raymond W. Bliss Army Community Hospital at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Duties
Manage the administrative and technical aspects of the health center housekeeping contracting program.
Maintain standards and requirements by making continuing inspections to test and evaluate health center housekeeping techniques, procedures, and products.
Determine stock levels, conducts inventories, and coordinates with contractors.
Direct the operations of the health center’s linen exchange program.
Monitor changes in contract requirements, assesses deductions of charges, and certifies work completed for receiving reports.
Evaluate use patterns and future requirements to project needs in support of the Health Center Commander's mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess and maintain a valid US State issued driver’s license to carry out position related duties.
- This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 25% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
- Must be certified in the handling, transportation, and disposal of Regulated Medical Waste or be able to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
- This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) assisting with linen or cleaning maintenance within a medical facility; 2) coordinating with contractors or contracted services; AND 3) evaluating medical housekeeping programs to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Hospital Administration, Business Administration,or other related field of study.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
