You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Weapons and Energetics Department, of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE in the Project Ordnance Test Support Branch.
Duties
You will prepare, lift, and move missiles and test assets for scheduled flight and ground events.
You will handle and transport weapons on station using trucks, fork trucks, and cranes as required.
You will assist with planning, coordination, and monitoring of in-house test and evaluation projects for Technical Project Offices (TPOs) at China Lake.
You will assist engineers and contractors in the testing and integration of developmental software or missile components in accordance with publication manuals or approved SOPs.
You will interact with test squadrons, TPOs, contractors, as well as on station and off station organizations in the movement, handling, and testing of flight weapons and weapon test vehicles.
You will assist in the management of ordnance inventory for all explosive items in support of the TPO program to which you are assigned.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Ordnance Handler/Hauler certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current explosive driver's license within 1 year.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current explosive forklift driver's license within 1 year.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CAT 3 Crane operator license within 1 year.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current flight line driver's license within 1 year.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a non-aircrew cockpit systems (NCAS) qualification (as needed) within 1 year.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current NC-10 power cart license (as needed) within 1 year.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current A/M32C-12 air conditioner license (as needed) within 1 year.
Qualifications
(DT-04): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DT-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Technical expertise related to maintenance requirements, troubleshooting techniques, and peculiarities of the different pieces of support equipment for energetics use; 2) Coordinating on- and off-station ordnance movements of weapons and test assets; 3) Providing leadership and technical expertise with assembly and disassembly of weapons or other energetic weapons and test articles; 4) Utilizing procedural regulations to manage Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) materials; 5) Managing weapons tool and support equipment maintenance, and ensuring calibration requirements are met prior to use; 6) Acting as a point of contact between the TPO and various organizations to facilitate testing requirements and testing schedules.
(DT-03): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (DT-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Assisting with maintenance requirements, troubleshooting techniques, and peculiarities of the different pieces of support equipment for energetics use; 2) Demonstrating practical knowledge of the use of material handling equipment (MHE) and ordnance handling equipment (OHE), maintenance requirements, and inspection schedules; 3) Assisting in working with assembly and disassembly of weapons or other energetic weapons and test articles; 4) Assisting in maintaining equipment and materials inventory.
