This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA), Regulations Development Group (RDG).

Duties

Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Oversees the planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling the resources required to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective accomplishment of Agency priorities. Leads the economic impact on small businesses, costs, savings, and effectiveness of draft regulations as required by RFA, the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement and Fairness Act and other relevant acts and Executive Orders.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Identifying conflicts or issues in correspondence or policy documents related to health insurance programs or healthcare programs; AND 2) Compiling or producing briefing documents to inform senior leadership officials; AND 3) Developing operational procedures or recommending process solutions to improve work with internal and external stakeholders; AND 4) Leading work activities for subordinate employees (e.g. managing workloads, setting deadlines, performance planning, and resolving conflicts etc). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
