Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of the Commissioner, Office of the Executive Secretariat (OES), located in Washington DC. Duties

This position serves as a central control point for all incoming/outgoing correspondence within CBP. The incumbent serves as a technical authority on priority correspondence and works with major offices within CBP. The Executive Secretariat Staff (OES), Office of the Commissioner, has responsibility for assuring the flow and control of priority correspondence agency wide. Correspondence includes all agency correspondence received from the White House, Congressional correspondence, correspondence from other Federal agencies, the private sector and the general public.This position starts at a salary of $99,200.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $128,956.00 (GS-12, Step 10) GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. Duties of this position will include: Serve as an analyst with the Correspondence Unit of CBPtasking Unit within OES. Manages the full life-cycle of all taskers sent to the CBPtasking Unit, or correspondence for the Correspondence Unit. Identifies actual or potential problem areas, trends. Collaborates with other component offices across CBP, and serves as an OES point of contact for the unit.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Proven experience in a communication-focused role with strong emphasis on problem solving Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, and high level of attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments Familiar with correspondence management systems and tracking databases (ie salesforce), and proficient in Microsoft office NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 11/27/2024.
