About this Position: This position is for a Administrative Services Technician, working at the Butte U.S. Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) with a duty location of Butte, MT.
Duties
Serve as the subject matter expert for property accountability and all logistics matters within the organization.
Maintain an automated supply system for material requisitions, inventories, lateral transfers, authorizations, hand receipts, supporting files, and other property book transactions.
Conduct investigations to determine causes of inventory discrepancies by checking property documents.
Locate vendors or other actions to ensure mission operations are performed without interruption due to inadequate or nonexistent bench stocked or special requirement materials.
Serve as the organization vehicle manager, arranging for the pickup, maintenance, dispatch, and turn-in of vehicles.
Compile and prepare reports concerning motor vehicle maintenance, utilization, repairs, accidents, etc.
Schedule equipment maintenance/calibration and repairs as necessary.
Serve as facility manager.
Establish plans and programs for overall center safety, physical security, key control, center access, fire protection, energy conservation, and environmental compliance programs.
Receive, document, and turn in hazardous material and waste.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Incumbent must be able to acquire and retain a government purchase card.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain HAZMAT certification.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Blood Borne Pathogen certification.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driving license.
- Incumbent must be able to lift objects up to 40 lbs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing clerical, technical and administrative duties regarding maintaining an automated supply system for material requisition; inspecting facilities for safety violations and handling hazardous materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education with a major study in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
