You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the CORPORATE BUSINESS & ANALYSIS GROUP, Infrastructure Business Operations Department, Project Mgt & Engineering Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will be responsible for project management oversight of facilities projects supporting Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM), 233 initiative, and earthquake recovery work.
You will be responsible for oversight of construction processes from project induction through construction completion, for a variety of complex projects and for conventional facilities and installations.
You will coordinate necessary permits for construction (dig permits, utility locates, etc.) as well as necessary certifications for elevators, fire protection, and cranes.
You will interact with activity service providers to ensure program requirements are met.
You will use a variety of tools and trade practices, such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, cement work, painting, flooring, framing, roofing, t-bar/ceiling grid, door, and window installation and repairs.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current EM385: Army Corps of Engineers - Construction Safety and Health Requirements Training certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current ESAMS: Hand and Power Tool Safety certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Fall Protection Awareness Training for End Users working at Heights certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Asbestos Awareness certification.
Qualifications
(DT-05): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DT-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Utilizing intermediate knowledge of Construction Management processes; 2) Assisting with the tracking of multiple projects with different requirements; 3) Interpreting blueprints and drawings; 4) Performing work related to quality assurance/control processes and risk management; 5) Assisting with contract administration.
(DT-04): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-9/10) or pay band (DT-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Utilizing and advising on intermediate Construction Management processes; 2) Tracking multiple projects with different requirements; 3) Interpreting blueprints and drawings; 4) Performing work related to quality assurance/control processes and risk management; 5) Working directly with contract administration.
