ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: Department of Health & Health Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Southwest Region, Phoenix Area - Professional Services Division, CRSU -Parker Indian Health Center, Position is located in Parker, Arizona. Position is supervised by the Supervisory Pharmacist (Chief). Primary responsibility of position is to provide a comprehensive range of clinical pharmacy services; provides clinical teaching activities.

Duties

Major Duties: Serves as Clinical Pharmacist of the outpatient pharmacy program and is responsible for the provision of pharmacy services including all drug distribution services and clinical pharmacy services. Provides direct patient care in pharmacy based clinics such as medication refill; anticoagulation, smoking cessation, and anemia prevention using clinical approved guidelines. Advises and provides technical expertise/leadership in the areas of medication selection, procurement, storage, ordering, preparing, dispensing, billing, delivery, administration, and monitoring. Provides education to patients and their families about medications, common disease states and information on health promotion. **This position is being announced concurrently under Excepted Service Examining Plan/Merit Promotion Plan (ESEP/MPP) procedures. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Individual Occupational Requirements Note: Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied. Education A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-GS-0660-12: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Providing clinical pharmacy and drug information services to individuals and the preparation of the complete range of sterile products and intravenous additives for a medical facility; ensuring correct labeling, handling and storage of pharmaceutical products; advising physicians of possible safety issues; compounding drugs as prescribed; and teaching pharmacy techniques/procedures to other pharmacists. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
