You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the IT Operations Branch of NAVSURFWARCENACT DAM NECK VA.
Duties
You will serve as the lead administrator and subject matter expert as well as perform collaborative efforts and tasking with external business partners and other Warfare Center Divisions.
You will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, and maintenance of information systems security policies and data protection tools.
You will Lead IT systems development projects from design to support, evaluate the effectiveness of installed systems and services, and provide expert feedback and recommendations, and devise solutions.
You will make decisions on the development and implement migration strategies including planning for continuity of operations.
You will Identify and facilitate the planning and coordination of installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of enterprise management software and related enterprise-level changes to the systems infrastructure.
You will design, implement, and maintain a Virtual Computing enterprise environment.
You will design and implement Information Security policies and technical capabilities to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility as well as to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience applying Information Technology (IT) security principles to monitor and evaluate systems compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Developing, implementing, and coordinating activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presenting updated plans to the IT security manager for review and approval.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
