About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. The position is with Ireland Army Health Clinic Patient Administration Division (PAD) Medical Boards, and will be located at a satellite location in Edinburgh, lndiana. The primary purpose is to perform counseling, data collection, medical record compilation, and procedural work related to Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) processing.

Duties
Counsel military personnel from all branches of the uniformed services, retirees and families being processed through the Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (APDES).
Coordinate evaluation appointments.
Assist in preparing appeals and rebuttals.
Provide information on the rights and benefits of personnel, retirees, and/or discharged for physical disabilities with or without severance pay
Refer personnel to appropriate agencies to obtain counseling/guidance on benefits provided by the Department of Labor, Social Security Administration, and Veterans Affairs.
Train installation leadership on issues relevant to Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (APDES).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) may be required for this position.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assisting with 1. advising personnel on benefits processes; 2. scheduling appointments pertaining to medical evaluations; and 3. providing assistance throughout phases of medical evaluation process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Healthcare Administration or a related field such as Business or Public Administration with course work in Healthcare Administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
