This position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, PD# T5120P01, part of the Nevada National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to all State/Territories activities/organizations and perform a wide range of specialized methods/techniques for planning, analyzing and identifying problems in order to develop and implement resolutions to administrative and systemic programs throughout the organization.
Duties
1. Serves as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Exercises knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Utilizes an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation. Identifies funding requirements to support SASMO operations, justifies and submits budget requirements for State operating budget, and executes funds received.
2. Serves as a Systems Administrator for all Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs and as the technical expert within the State/Territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Reviews SASMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e., help desk, repair operations, etc.). Evaluates trouble tickets escalated from the help desk, setting priorities on a weekly and monthly basis. Troubleshoots diagnoses and resolves technical problems identified in trouble tickets and initial setup of serviced Automated Logistics Information System computers to include loading software, configuring modem and network card(s), assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses with correct subnet, connectivity to the network as required, coordinating with other support personnel, and completing technical inspections. Develops programs to ensure software and vulnerability updates are applied in proper order. Coordinates and communicates with Department of the Army (DA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), Program Executive Offices (PEO)/Program Managers of supported systems, regarding CSS operations and automated systems support, problem resolution, software upgrades and change packages. Assists functional users in automated CSS systems management and operation.
3 Serves as the primary point of contact for Functional Administrators and users of the serviced database(s). Administers the day-to-day database operation and maintenance of the serviced database(s). Performs tests to ensure serviced database(s) efficiently collects, stores, and processes data. Evaluates, determines, and initiates corrective action to recover or restore data and return the database(s) to operational status. Resolves issues and problems concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs administrative and systemic work operations. Utilizes knowledge of logistics management principles, policies, and procedures to implement, establish, and execute operational plans and policies for Automated Logistics Information Systems. Represents the DCSLOG as the primary POC responsible for the functional implementation and sustainment of varied automation information management systems.
4 Analyzes requirements, establishes programs/procedures ensuring effective coordination on CSS automation hardware systems and peripherals pertaining to the receipt, distribution, installation, and life cycle management of devices that are directed to be managed at unit/State/Territory level. Performs proper installation, testing and evaluation of CSS systems hardware. Identifies maintenance requirements and coordinates/initiate's corrective action. As appropriate, establishes a State/Territory CSS automation hardware tactical computer exchange (TCX) (aka equipment float) program and directs the management of the program, ensuring accountability of exchanges. Directs user-level assistance on Automated Logistics Information Systems and Program operations and automated systems utilization. Develops and implements the coordination and administering of training programs for new and established CSS automated systems.
5. Serves as the primary point of contact on all CSS automation continuity of operations plan (COOP), development, and execution. Monitors the State/Territory automated CSS system network, determining fault isolation, problem resolution, and performance reporting or coordinates with appropriate official for resolution. Coordinates with the Deputy Chief of Staff Information Management (DCSIM) on identifying, developing, establishing, and maintaining CSS systems interfaces with and/or CSS utilization of the Reserve Component Automation System (RCAS) as appropriate. Represents the DCSLOG in implementing or improving logistical operations through Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Serves as primary point of contact for logistical automation projects to include fielding of new equipment and improvements/upgrades to existing Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs. Advise the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist of issues and concerns.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions.
