This position is located in the Investigations Division, in the Office of Professional Responsibility. The function of the Office of Professional Responsibility is to investigate violations of standards of conduct, and/or laws and statutes governing employee responsibilities or behavior. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, an analytical thinker with strong oral and written communication skills, as well as experience in conducting administrative investigations.

Duties

What will I do in this position if hired? In this Investigator position, you will conduct preliminary inquiries and investigations into allegations of violation of federal laws or regulations, mismanagement, gross waste of funds, abuse of authority or substantial and specific danger to public health and safety, and employee misconduct. Handles all phases of the investigation and determines approaches, resources required, and deliverables, to include interviewing complainants, witnesses and subjects of the investigation. Cases often involve multiple issues, such as fraud, employee misconduct and criminal behavior. Typical assignments include:
