Duties
As a Public Health Advisor you will:
Perform expert analysis of collected data and findings and interprets complex legislative, regulatory, and/or policy guidance for use in managing nationwide public health programs.
Serve as senior level evaluator and conducts complex evaluation studies on one-of-a-kind or controversial operating public health programs having far-reaching bureau or department-wide impact.
Lead the development of nationwide (or comparable scope) program operations and initiatives for assigned operating public health programs.
Supervise a small contingent of administrative staff, excluding staff members serving in a scientific or professional series positions.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing and coordinating administrative, management and operational activities for domestic and/or international public health programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
