This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA to DIB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is located US ARMY AVIATION & MISSILE COMMAND, PRODUCTION DIRECTORATE, ANNISTON, AL.
Duties
Prepares calibration reports for customer use, providing specific information such as assigned values, corrections factors, and measurement uncertainty for instruments being calibrated.
Assists and advises users in the application of, and calibration requirements for TMDE in support of their mission.
Implements, adapts, modifies and occasionally develops technical procedures required by changing user or equipment requirements.
Identifies and documents errors in existing procedures and provides information used for the development of technical documents used for TMDE calibration and certification.
Serves, as the workload dictates, as a specialist in physical/dimensional and calibration. Performs other duties as assign.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a moderate to heavy lifting requirement. This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Precision Measurement Equipment Calibrator work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.~ without more than normal supervision.
- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: The work may require long periods of standing or sitting along with some walking or bending. Requires frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 50 pounds with occasional requirements to lift items in excess of 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage, high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
