Duties

This position is part of the Department of Defense . The incumbent will be responsible for leading and managing on all matters related to program cost, schedule and performance across the Missile Defense System (MDS). As a Program Manager at the NH-0340-4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the single point of coordination and execution for technical assistance, providing technical and administrative support for all Israeli Third Party Transfers (TPT)/sales of systems co-developed or co-produced by the United States (U.S.)-Israeli Joint Program office (MDA/IP). Establish and manage objectives for program execution consistent with Agency goals, policies and directives. Manage the coordination and implementation with the international partner program co-development and co-production activities for the fielded Missile Defense System. Provide leadership, guidance, and direction across program operations to synchronize business operations and technical management. Manage all assigned Program resources and support activities essential to provide MDA weapon system expertise to the Cooperative Program and Missile Defense leadership, the Defense Attaché and the Combatant Commander. Accomplish integrated program support activities requiring frequent collaboration with complementary program offices internal or external to MDA, foreign program offices for co-development/co-production and fielding, and Joint initiatives with senior military and diplomatic senior executives.

  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position. Incumbent will be required to sign a written tenure agreement to remain, for a minimum of three years, in the Federal Service in the Critical Acquisition Position.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Managing cost, schedule, and performance of a complex weapon system. OR Communicating to senior leaders orally, in writing and with presentation material. OR Leading teams, recommending and making risk based decisions, providing program support, and collaborating across programs, organizations, and functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) including external stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
