This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). As a Grant Project Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating post-secondary grant projects for Student Support Services.

Duties

As a Grant Project CoordinatorGS-1701-9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following: Facilitate, plan, and ensure progress and completion of a post-secondary student support services grant project from initial phase to grant closure. Maintain on-going monitoring of grant funds and expenditures to ensure grant target areas are met. Create partnerships with potential service providers, internally and externally, to develop a plan for cooperation and to coordinate student support services delivery at SIPI. Maintain project database and utilizes data to compile and prepare routine and special reports for grants project; ensures accurate and timely preparation of grant reports. Assist with briefings to management, grant sources, and other appropriate stakeholders concerning the project status, budgets, and milestones.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. or Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications requirements below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. GS-9: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Examples include: Assist with coordination and monitoring of post-secondary grant projects; knowledge of grants management regulations; perform detailed budget analysis functions related to grant projects; and maintain project database and utilizes data to compile reports and retrieve information. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree. Completion of graduate level education is qualifying if it provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR A combination of specialized experience as described above and more than one year of progressively higher level graduate education. When combining education with experience, first determine the total qualifying education as a percentage of education required for the grade level; then determine the experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. Total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for the grade level. GS-11: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Examples include: Assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of post-secondary grant projects; analytical knowledge of grants management laws and statues for compliance; utilize grants monitoring and management control techniques to monitor financial conditions; writes proposals for and secures additional funding for implementation; and establish monitoring and reporting control systems to enter and retrieve budget and program information. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree. Completion of graduate level education is qualifying if it provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR A combination of specialized experience as described above and more than two years of progressively higher level graduate education. When combining education with experience, first determine the total qualifying education as a percentage of education required for the grade level; then determine the experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. Total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for the grade level. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

Education
