About the Position: Serves as an Instructional Systems Specialist/Quality Assurance Evaluator in the Quality Assurance Office, US Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) located in Fort Novosel, Alabama.

Duties

Conducts internal and external evaluations of training and education programs using the Army Enterprise Accreditation Standards (AEAS). Leads or assists in the conduct of accreditations or self-assessments at the USAACE and Army National Guard Aviation Training Sites (AATS). Prepares correspondence, message traffic, and information papers for USAACE command group review. Identifies training/training development functional requirements to meet compliance with the Army Enterprise Accreditation Standards. Identifies deficiencies, proposes recommendations for improving compliance with the Army accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain Secret background investigation.
  • Temporary travel duty may be required up to 15% of the time.

Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements: Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes execute programs concerning faculty to meet educational and/or developmental needs; conduct training evaluations and assessments related to training products; utilize analysis, design, development, implementation; and evaluation to design training, learning development programs, develop training and/or instructional materials. Identify training risk and prepare executive summaries, reports, or briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Instructional and Performance Support TechnologyInstructional Materials & Curriculum DevelopmentInstructional Program AdministrationInstructional Program Evaluation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-11.
