You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the FINANCE DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN WEST DET.

Duties

You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of the financial management of the organization’s programs and administrative operations. You will assign work to subordinates based on the employee’s capabilities, priorities and difficulty. You will operate with a high degree of independence in carrying out budgetary and financial management responsibilities. You will be performing a variety of analytical, technical, and administrative work for substantive programs and support activities.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing automated financial management systems to analyze budgetary data and determine cost effective use of funds to provide recommendations supporting financial or budgetary programs. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
