These positions are located in the Dietary Department under the Division of Clinical Services of the Zuni-Ramah Service Unit, Zuni, NM. The purpose of these positions is to provide food services, simple food preparation, maintenance, and custodial duties. The incumbent will report to the Cook Supervisor. Positions will be subject to rotating shifts: early and late schedule with varying days off, rotating holidays and weekends.

Duties

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Local Commuting Area - Management has determined in advance that there are sufficient number of applicants in the local area. Contacts nursing personnel for diet listing that includes all pertinent information regarding patients' prescribed diet, admission, discharge, hold meals, etc. Assembles and dispenses assigned items (condiments, salads, desserts, etc.) on patients' tray for regular and modified diets. Makes final assembly of trays, serving hot and cold food from carts. Sets up, loads and transports food carts to wards. Take nourishment inventories, replace expired bulk items, and label and distribute individual nourishments to appropriate patients or nursing stations. Maintains kitchen and work area in a clean and order condition. Applies special sanitary techniques in the work area. Occasionally serves as relief cook with detailed instructions regarding all activities.
