About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Research and Development Center (ERDC), Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory, Office of Technical Directors.
Duties

Serves as an objective confidant and advisor with whom the mentee may discuss work-related and other concerns related to career development and planning.
Monitors the status and progress of the work in progress and reviews completed work to ensure the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met.
Maintains program reference materials, project files and relevant background documents and makes available policies, procedures, and written instructions from the supervisor.
Maintains current program knowledge to answer questions from interns/juniors on policies, procedures, policies, directives, etc.

- This is a Modified Term position intended to last 12 months. A Modified Term and can be extended up to 6 years based upon organizational needs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes participation as expert mentor/advisor in regards to Civil Engineering in complex research projects while also working to solve problems related to riverine applications such as river and erosion processes, hydrology, and fluvial geomorphology. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DB-02 (GS-11).
