You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN in the FACILITIES SUSTAINMENT PROJECTS BRANCH of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, or electrical maintenance and repair manuals to safely complete electrical system repairs.
You will install, repair, overhaul, and test electrical systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
You will plan use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools for electrical work assignments.
You will test completed circuits for functionality after repair or installation.
You will analyze electrical systems and equipment performance to isolate malfunctions.
You will select tools and equipment to complete electrical installations and repairs.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to possess or obtain within 12 months of appointment, and maintain a NICET Level 2 Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current license to operate Folk Lift, High Lift (JLG), Bucket Truck and/or construction equipment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Installing, maintaining, modifying and repairing all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment; 2) Planning and laying out the sequence of work from engineering sketches, drawings or blueprints; 3) Analyzing the results of diagnostics test equipment during troubleshooting and repair of equipment; 4) Utilizing hand and power tools, such as cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines; and a wide variety of test equipment.
