About the Position: The incumbent serves as the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Garrison Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) Transition Services Manager (TSM) SFL-TAP at Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Coordinate with installation transition assistance program service providers, other Federal agencies, with regional State, and local governments; and
Participates in councils including Senior State Executives, Elected Officials, and Public and Private partners to tackle issues surrounding transition in attempt to ensure a seamless transition.
Maintains frequent communication with HQ IMCOM SFL-TAP Area Lead and HQ Human Resources Command (HRC) SFL-TAP Program Manager on the status of transition services, budget, local initiatives, new programs and policy, and the effectiveness of services.
Develops and oversees annual budget for marketing materials, supplies, equipment, travel, and any contractual documents for IT support and maintenance of classroom computers, audio visual equipment, and other services,.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Executes delegated personnel management authorities and responsibilities directly and through subordinate supervisors/leaders and provides oversight of contracted operations.
Designated Contracting Officer Representative (COR) monitors contract by using contract evaluation criteria provided.
Monitors, tracks, and documents staff training of contractors and government staff.
Requirements

- Work of the position may require the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
- A one-year supervisory probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Experience providing transition assistance to service members departing military service, veterans and family members; (2) Liaison and coordinate with internal and external agencies, service providers, and government organizations to ensure mandatory transition requirements are met; (3) Coordinate and organize bi-annual mandated career fair events; (4) Analyzing data to evaluate transitional program services; (5) Ability to prepare and/or conduct briefings or presentations; (6) Coordinating workshops/seminars to promote transitional programs; and (7) Using automated systems to prepare reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
