Duty Location: Provo, Utah
Duties
This position is located in an organization within Provo Area Office and provides a wide variety of administrative support functions for the Office.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
Review and edit memos, letters, and other correspondence for signature by office staff, ensuring correct English grammar, punctuation, spelling and format.
Use multiple office automation software functions to produce a wide range of documents, forms, reports, correspondence, charts, tables, etc.
Use a variety of automated systems (e.g., electronic forms, electronic publications library, time and attendance,
etc.) to perform various clerical duties.
Review incoming and outgoing mail and route appropriately
Prepare travel arrangements.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. If qualifying based on education, a copy of your unofficial transcripts must be provided with your application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: 1) administrative functions such as payroll, personnel, travel, and/or correspondence; 2) using office procedures and equipment; 3) organizing and analyzing numerical information; and 4) meeting and dealing effectively with others. (Note: Your resume must fully support this experience.)
OR
Education: Successful completion of at least four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university in any field. One (1) year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. NOTE: You must include transcripts.
OR
Combination: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours of a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirements. Two full academic years of study, or 60 semester hours, beyond the second year is equivalent to l year of specialized experience. Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts.
SELECTIVE FACTOR: You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a five-minute sample with three or fewer errors in order to qualify for this position. You are self-certifying that you possess this typing requirement. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-05 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non-temporary competitive appointment.
Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.

Education
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
