About the Position: This is an Editor (Printed Media) position located within the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate Headquarters, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Duties
As an Editor (Printed Media), you will perform duties to include, but not limited to the following:
Edits and rewrites draft material to conform to Army or joint, multi-service, and multinational doctrine regulations doctrine and regulations.
Ensures consistency of the publication with other doctrinal literature.
Works high-visibility, high-priority, and first or one-of-a-kind projects with full authority to make editorial decisions necessary to comply with the particular purpose and intended us of the publication.
Advises authors on regulatory requirements outlined in TRADOC and Army regulations; ensures all manuals meet TRADOC requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying grammar guides and writing practices to edit and rewrite written articles for publication; editing and revising page layouts and articles to improve clarity and readability; and collaborating with authors to edit original manuscripts submitted for publication. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
