About the Position: This position is with the Technical and Production Division of The Institue of Heraldry (TIOH), located in Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Provide technical advice, guidance, and assistance on supply operations to all TIOH personnel.
Coordinate and loan accountable property items as government furnished material to commercial activities daily and must ensure the property is serviceable at all times.
Coordinate with customers and oversee the implementation of actions involving requirements determination and acquisition of supplies, services, cataloging, storing, and maintenance of electronic databases.
Manage all requirements purchased through locally developed purchase descriptions, work orders, or outside agency Buyer Purchase Agreements.
Review supply request packages for accuracy of documentation prior to processing for purchase action
Reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations for improvements in operations, programs, and standard methods or procedures related to the specific program assignment.
Provide security and protection of irreplaceable items of historical value. I
Coordinate local policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements related to the various functions performed within the Division and TIOH.
Develop, staff, and recommend implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for establishing stock levels for supplies, receiving supply orders, and placing orders for development of newly authorized heraldic items.
Develop and present supply information related to the wide variety of supply disciplines within TIOH.
Recommend changes in systems or processes, and reviews and documents additions, changes, or deletions necessary to automated systems for the tool room and repository used by the Division.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 10%.
- Position may require long periods of standing; employee must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and independently lift 45 pounds. Use of special protective gear may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance on a supply operations program to various personnel; Overseeing the implementation of actions involving supply electronic databases to account for mission property; Assisting in the management of requirements purchased through work orders, purchase descriptions and/or buyer purchase agreements; Inspecting property and ensuring proper cleaning/repairs and providing protective storage for property; and Preparing supporting supply documentation such as: preparing letters, memoranda, requisitions, work orders, vouchers, procurement documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-07

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
