Duties
You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DIVISION (N8) of the REDCOM EVERETT DIVISION located in EVERETT, WA.
You will perform account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports.
You will perform technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy, compliance, satisfaction or default in fulfilling contractual obligations, reimbursements for medical and
domiciliary care, education, travel and transportation.
You will perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
Requirements

- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying an in depth knowledge of accounting, budget or other financial management regulations, practices, procedures, and policies related to specific financial management functions. Keyboarding is required.
Experience applying a working knowledge of STARs or similar Government accounting systems or private sector accounting system.
This working knowledge must encompass but is not limited to; the ability to perform semi-independent reconciliations, obligation adjustments, corrections to suspense documents, etc.
Experience carrying out analysis of data semi-independently in multiple automated accounting/financial systems on a daily basis.
Experience learning new systems with little or no official training over a reasonably short period of time, and working independently with customers and within an organization to accomplish their work assignments and analytical analysis in a timely manner (sometimes under a very short suspense time).
