As a Records and Information Management Specialist within the Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties relating to the development, operation, and maintenance of electronic data bases and the analysis of quality assurance technical and program data contained in those data bases.
Duties
Operates and maintains data systems for the accumulation and retrieval of quality data used for determination of final acceptance of Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) program hardware, including the As-Built Configuration Status System (ABCSS).
Collaborates with users of the As-designed/ABCSS to understand the organization's information needs and designs, develops, and implements changes to the system, including system enhancements, to meet information needs.
Interprets and applies regulations governing written and electronic records maintenance, retention/ retrieval to support physical configuration audits, engineering requirements verification closure activities, project and management status reviews.
Maintains logs, records, operating manuals, and procedures. Records all work processed. Records changes to operating methods and system production options.
Designs, develops, and maintains an information system for tracking quality assurance programmatic/resource information. Generates reports, charts, tables, and graphs from this system to support management decision making.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:
Researching and analyzing information for accuracy and then translating information into the As-Built Configuration Status System (ABCSS) database, or similar;
Preparing summaries, reports, charts, or graphs utilizing narrative quantitative and statistical data;
Serving as a records authority and extracting configuration, non-conformance, recurrence control, or other various information for management or stakeholders.
