About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 81st Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 125, Storage Branch, located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Duties

Operate the full range of gasoline or diesel powered vehicles. Perform maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Develop performance standards and counsel employees on performance. Review in-progress and completed work for adequate quantity and quality. Identify training needs of employees and make recommendations to provide necessary training. Instruct subordinates in new procedures and provide advice when problems arise. Plan weekly and monthly work schedules. Establish deadlines and prioritize workload.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
  • This position requires a Class A CDL within 30 days of employment.
  • This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.

Ability To Lead or SuperviseAdministration and ManagementOperation of Motor VehiclesPlanning and EvaluatingTraining and Employee Development Physical Effort Required: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require the worker to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls when driving, turning, stopping and starting the forklifts and motor vehicles and in raising, lowering and tilting the forklift loads. Working Conditions: Subject to working out-of-doors during periods of inclement weather. Is exposed to serious injuries while operating vehicles over public roads and on the installation. Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of hearing protection and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.
