Duties

You will be responsible for planning and managing and controlling the work efforts required for successful accomplishment of the assigned acquisition program. You will analyze needs and synthesize requirements information to develop requirements for program initiatives and plans. You will contribute to the determination of resource needs and allocation of resources (funding, manpower, facilities, etc.) for life-cycle management of the assigned program. You will coordinate program efforts with other activities and personnel directly assigned or detailed to support the program. You will recommend to higher program authority the need to redirect efforts, to pursue additional lines of investigation and similar matters. You will serve as the central contact point within the program office for all matters concerning the assigned program.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• This position is covered under Public Law 114-264, the Program Management Improvement Accountability Act (PMIAA).
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 pay band (or equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
