About the Position: Serves as a Plan Formulator for Seattle District and may serve as a Project Manager or Technical Manager for specific projects as required. Duties

Serves as Plan Formulator, coordinating, organizing and directing major Civil Works water resource studies for navigation, hydroelectric power, ecosystem restoration, coastal storm and flood damage reduction, and other purposes. Serves concurrently as project manager for managing and directing the efficient and effective accomplishment of the investigation, planning, scope development, design, and construction of major projects for assigned program areas. Serves as a Technical Manager on design and engineering projects for a wide variety of facilities and systems for civil works projects.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Community Planner: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance. OR B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Basic Requirement for Economist: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in economics that includes 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Basic Requirement for Biologist: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Basic Requirement for General Engineer: Please see the Individual Occupational Requirement on OPM: Basic Requirement for General, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Basic Requirement for Landscape Architect: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in landscape architecture or landscape design. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: For each year short of graduation, the applicant must have had one year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience must have included original landscape design. one year of experience for each year short of graduation. Basic Requirement for Physical Scientist: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: ??????? Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes development of plan formulation, development of study scopes and schedules, study design, experience with the planning process and planning policy for civil works water resources projects, and leadership of interdisciplinary teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes InformationPlanning and EvaluatingProject ManagementPublic Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
