About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation/ Recreational Lodging Facility.
This is a regular full time position with benefits, and irregular tour of duty to include evenings, weekends and Holidays.
This position works both indoors and outdoors year round.
You must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered.
Duties
Provides management and oversight in the day to day Outdoor Recreation operation to include personnel management, programming, planning and financial management. Plans, organizes, schedules and coordinates outdoor recreation activities such as camping, hiking, fishing, outdoor survival, archery, boating and other related programs that include utilization of base reservoir, recreational areas as well as off-base locations and manages outdoor recreation programs to include USAF, AFMC and base wide activities. Oversees ODR facilities to include recreation lodging rooms, campsites, marinas, cabins and bathhouses for regular and preventative maintenance issues. Provides instruction, guidance and leadership to staff and participants. Submits program plans to encompass manpower, logistical support, marketing and publicity. Determines costs and pricing for events. Evaluates effectiveness of ongoing activities from the stand point of participants, resources, unforeseen developments and program objectives and prepares after-action reports. Recommends year-round programming of activities, to include format and resources the activity would require. Greets customers and conducts facility tours. Develops a quarterly and yearly program calendar of events which is used to prepare budgets. Performs budget, analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial condition of ODR. Maintains qualifications and proficiency in First Aid and CPR certification. Routinely briefs on-base and off-base organizations regarding the variety of programs offered by Outdoor Recreation. Operates ODR reservation system and provides employee training. Administers Safety Program for ODR employees. Maintains facility to meet operational standards. Ensures compliance with EEO and personnel directives. Maintains time and attendance for NAF employees. Evaluates performance and recommends awards. Determines leave, established performance standards, establishes and implements training program and recommends personnel actions. Maintains
employee records. Works an irregular tour of duty to include nights, weekends and holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical with ability to lift, move, carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Irregular tour of duty includes evenings, weekends and Holidays
- Satisfactorily complete initial and random drug screens

Qualifying Experience:
General knowledge of principles, concepts and techniques of recreation relating to the specific needs of the community to be served. Applicants must have experience which includes responsibility for one or more areas of outdoor recreation programs. Experience must have included responsibility for planning, programming, implementation and evaluation of programs to include staffing, logistical requirements, and budgeting. Must have excellent customer service skills or relative experience in handling customers. Must be proficient in the use of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
