The primary purpose of this position SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST NH-0080-04 is to protect the organization from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information considered vital to mission interests, national defense and national security by serving as the Chief of Information Protection at the Air Base Wing level.
Duties
Exercise 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of the time.
Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Air Base Wing IP office, ensuring the office complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Represent the ABW with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Administer information protection programs to assure secure accomplishment of all Wing missions, goals and objectives through proactive application of information protection principles, policies and practices.
Research, interpret, analyze and apply Presidential Executive Orders, Department of Defense and Air Force Instructions and MAJCOM directives.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement will have, at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-13), level, pay band (NH-03), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). Specialized experience is described as: experience aiding with performing extensive analysis and coordination to implement security plans and programs, such as conflicting requirements or objectives that may be imposed by other agencies; experience supporting the recommendation of new methods and modifications for enhancing efficiency of security systems applicable across the agency; experience receiving and sharing information across numerous organizations to leverage the vital information needed to detect threats and prevent loss/compromise of classified information and espionage.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to supervise and lead a team, plan, organize, and direct functions and mentor or motivate team members with knowledge of EEO, safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Mastery of knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices to independently manage assigned programs.
Extensive knowledge of AFMC's mission, functions, and structure to the unit level to ensure effective implementation and oversight of information, personnel, and industrial security programs, concepts, principles, and practices in support of the Air Force Security Enterprise.
Comprehensive knowledge of all Information Security disciplines and governing policies, directives, instructions, and procedures.
Comprehensive of General Supply Administration (GSA) specifications for security; state-of-the-art detection and surveillance systems, construction standards, automated data processing systems and other security concepts to integrate the requirements of all security disciplines into guidance for the implementation and management of the AF information security program.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC) conferrals are required within two years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DoD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative
This position is obligated to an employee on an overseas assignment with entitlements to return to this position. If selected, a signed agreement will be required, acknowledging the potential displacement, under reduction-in-force procedures, if alternative placement cannot be made.
This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, this position may be extended to the fullest legally allowable period without further competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds
