Duties

You will serve as an Electrical Engineer in the Crane Engineering Branch of Waterfront Support Department C200, TRIDENT Refit Facility in Kings Bay, Ga. You will review electrical aspects of designs for facilities being constructed by others to determine completeness, adequacy and functionality of WHE. You will investigate/ prepare the electrical portion of plans and specifications to provide engineering solutions to complex technical problems associated with WHE/ MHE. You will be responsible for planning, budgeting, coordinating, implementing and data collection/ analysis of WHE electrical spares, maintenance, overhaul and replacement. You will provide services regarding the electrical aspects of WHE to TRIDENT Refit Facility.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience serving as a recognized expert consultant to all commands at SUBASE regarding electrical aspects of design, installation, maintenance, operation, alteration overhaul. Experience in design criteria, industry standards/ practices and installation/ construction requirements for Weight Handling Equipment (WHE) of all types and other electrical equipment/ systems. Experience incorporating advances into cranes designs involving testing, repair, alteration and new construction. Experience independently planning, organizing, and scheduling work., and meeting deadlines under pressure. Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree. Education must be directly related to the work of the position.
