This position is located in the Immigration Records and Identity Services Directorate, National Records Center, Immigration Information and Integrity Branch, Immigration Records Contract Management Section.
As an Immigration Management Assistant (OA), you will assist with the administrative and operational functions of USCIS, performing a range of clerical and technical tasks to support management activities and program analysis processes.
Duties
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Complete a variety of physical, database, and system file checks to prepare cases for adjudication, and coordinate with other units to resolve non-routine issues and cases.
Perform analysis on files, reports, and information systems and databases to update information and maintain data integrity.
Assist Contract Performance Analysts with inspections, preparation of reports, procedure planning, creating office documents and correspondence, and review of daily deposits.
Support various administrative or operational programs by managing inquiries from internal customers using several agency databases and reports. Reviewing and analyzing files to provide case status information and explanation.
Handle special mailings, update databases, and maintain files and filing systems.
Qualifications

GS-05: You qualify at the GS-05 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Collecting and organizing data into a usable format. Using various types of software to enter and retrieve data from an automated information system.
Respond to standard employee inquiries by searching office records and efficiently relaying relevant information to the appropriate staff members.
Skilled in managing documents through an automated information system, including receiving, assigning, tracking, reviewing, and verifying materials. OR
You may substitute successful completion of 4 years above high school for the experience required at the GS-05 grade level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours.
GS-06: You qualify at the GS-06 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Assisting Analysts with inspections and preparation of reports and procedure planning.
Compiling statistical information to evaluate and project program performance.
Collecting data from multiple sources, searching databases, legal documents, procedures, or memos for relevant information.
Communicating both in writing and in person to assist employees and other stakeholders.
GS-07: You qualify at the GS-07 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Using automated resources to compile statistical information that will be used to evaluate and project past, current, and future program performance.
Resolving routine problems regarding immigration cases, researching and interpreting guidance for use in reports and/or immigration cases.
Providing guidance on immigration policies, procedures, and regulations.
