You will serve as a CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE ANALYST in the Provost Marshall Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

Duties

You will analyze criminal information from law enforcement personnel, various law enforcement databases and open sources in support of law enforcement operations. You will identify criminal trends, patterns, and hotspots to support strategic and tactical goals and decision-making processes. You will maintain current and establish new law enforcement information databases to facilitate the secure storage and future exploitation of criminal information and intelligence relating to law enforcement operations and investigations. You will coordinate with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in support of greater regional law enforcement investigations, operations and initiatives. You will manage the analytical side of complex investigations by conducting link/event/association analysis as well as assist the Provost Marshal/Police Chief with prioritizing patrol and high crime areas. You will ensure all information utilized is collected, analyzed, and disseminated in accordance with regulations.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to shift work. You will be subject to 24-hour recall and will maintain a 24-hour recall notification numbers and is required to respond per installation policy and standard operating procedures.
  • This position is subject to overtime and or comptime and support to On-Duty investigators may be required during irregular hours.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • You are required to complete International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analyst (IALEIA) approved Crime Analyst training per DoDI 5525.18 within the first 12 months of hire.
  • Failure to meet conditions of employment may result in disciplinary action or termination.

GS-09: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing analytical support to military law enforcement personnel, identifying criminal trends, patterns, and hotspots in support of strategic goals. GS-07: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing analytical support to military law enforcement personnel and assist in obtaining or analyzing criminal information from law enforcement personnel. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09: master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

GS-07:1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement
