You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY MANAGEMENT OFFICE of NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND, CONUS WEST DIV.
Salary Range:
GS-09: $69,729 - $90,647
GS-11: $84,366 - $109-673
Duties
You will conduct security audits, inspections and surveys to ensure compliance with accounting and control requirements for classified material.
You will develop written security procedures concerning the maintenance, handling, storage, transmission and protection of classified material.
You will process security clearance requests ensuring issuance on a need-to-know basis only.
You will conduct personal interviews to obtain information of arrests military disciplinary actions, financial problems, citizenship of immediate family members, and other information pertinent to an investigation being initiated.
You will provide orientation and recurring indoctrination to personnel within the command regarding security education and training program requirements.
You will perform other administrative functions relative to the overall operation of the information and Personnel Security Program.
You will implement and monitor commands position sensitivity program by maintaining a record of civilian sensitive position designations and military Navy designator ratings requiring access to classified information.
You will assist with coordination of security requirements for classified contracts with DoD contractors.
You will identify and analyze security training needs and administer Information and Personnel Security Program training and indoctrination to others.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing security plans and procedures for a security program (such as Personnel, Information, or Industrial) to include reviewing security policies and assessing compliance in order to mitigate risk and vulnerabilities.
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: supporting a security program by conducting security inspections to identify classification levels, process clearance requests, and ensure compliance with protection requirements for an organization.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For the GS-11 only:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree;

Possession of an LL.M., if related;
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-09 only:
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
2 Full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if directly related to the position in which you are applying.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
