This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Incumbent will serve as the Chief of the Real Property Branch for Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Directorate of Public Works (DPW) performing in accordance with appropriate regulatory guidance, technical and administrative duties relating to real property accountability,
Duties
Responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and executing a real estate program providing real property accountability and audit compliance.
Serves as the Real Estate Branch Chief. Reviews DD Form 1354 for accuracy (e.g., correct category codes, units of measure, etc.), often checking the work of lower level personnel.
Responsible for all in-grant and out-grant real estate documents.
Processes requests for changes to facility requirements, which includes requests for additional facility space or for disposal of property declared excess for both leased and government-owned facilities.
Provides supervision to a professional and technical staff of realty specialists performing a wide variety of real property functions.
Serve as the Garrison Real Property Accountable Officer.
Requirements

- Secret security clearance required.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing and managing an organization's real property accountability programs; 2) Experience managing, planning and coordinating real estate actions in accordance with the real property master plan and tenant unit requirements; and 3) Experience coordinating and executing real estate agreements including acquisition and disposal of land, space, and structures, as well as administering lease agreements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
