About the Position: This is an INTERMITTENT position. Incumbent will only be working 30 hours per pay period.

Duties

Provides administrative management support to the Director, using knowledge of the Corps natural disaster and emergency missions and the functions, policies and procedures of the organizations. Evaluates and ensures that office operations procedures and policies are consistent with needs of the organization and are based on current policies. Analyzes work planning and production issues, and evaluates and summarizes resource management and human resources reports Ensures that technical correspondence and inquiries are promptly referred to the appropriate action officer. Verifies reporting procedures and requirements from HQ USACE and Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), establishes deadlines, and provides guidance and assistance to the administrative staffs. Assists other officials involved in a wide spectrum of natural disasters and emergency studies.

Specialized Experience (GS-9): One year of specialized experience which includes equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes processing administrative actions dealing with items such as financial, personnel, and/or material needs; assisting in the development of budgetary needs such as estimates, justifications, allocation of funds and resources. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementBudget AdministrationInformation ManagementOrganizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
