This position is part of the Idaho Operations Office, Department of Energy. As a Budget Analyst, you will perform work in any aspect of budget process and provides expertise in the analysis of a variety of budgetary operations and functions in the assigned organization or program area.
Duties
As a Budget Analyst, you will:
Perform a wide variety of administrative and analytical duties connected with the formulation, justification, presentation, execution, and review of budgets.
Monitor the execution of the approved budget and ensures that all obligations, expenditures and disbursements meet legal and regulatory requirements, and that sufficient funds are available to carry out operations.
Utilize financial systems (i.e., Funds Distribution System (FDS), Standard Accounting and Reporting System (STARS), Strategic Integrated Procurement Enterprise System (STRIPES) etc.) and their functions, uses, and reports.
Provide advice on Operations and Budget/Financial Systems.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, design and manipulation of pivot tables, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting All of the following
Performing all aspects of budget analysis, formulation, justification, presentation, execution, and review of budgets.
Compiling data from various financial systems to perform functions, uses, and prepare budget related reports.
Advising on Budget and Budget Process/Execution.
