Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Public Health Advisor, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Planning, developing, and implementing public behavioral health programs in collaboration with local, state, other Federal and/or international governments and various public, nonprofit, and private and health related organizations.
Reviewing congressional and legislative actions; assessing impact on public health program activities, initiatives, and policies; and initiating action accordingly.
Conducting and/or assisting in the development and delivery of training courses (e.g., community planning, prevention and intervention, outreach strategies, data collection, etc.,); and assisting with special studies and/or demonstrations.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: Must have experience that provided:
Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions.
Skill in oral and written communication, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
-AND-
Specialized Experience: In addition to the basic qualification requirement above, you must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following:
Serving as a senior public health advisor.
Providing consultative services to public behavioral health programs and/or projects that have demanding social, economic, cultural, governmental, and/or political conditions.
Providing recommendations for the planning, development, and/or evaluation of public behavioral health issues of general precedent, extensive controversy, and/or wide coordination.
Delivering public behavioral health messages with subject matter experts and/or developing messages into appropriate end products for communicating public health information to target audiences.
