You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) Hampton Roads (SCSTC HR), Virginia Beach, VA of SURFCOMSYSTRNCMD HAMPTON ROADS. GS-7: $49,713-$64,628 GS-9: $60,808-$79,050

Duties

You will conduct physical security surveys and crime prevention surveys. You will participate in facility construction and renovation meetings. You will be responsible for the daily support and maintenance of the installation Lost and Found Program. You will support physical security education training programs for Military Police and Law Enforcement personnel assigned to the installation. You will review all security requirement waivers and exemption requests from the installation and tenant commands.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supporting a governmental security directorate for physical, personnel and/or information security. 2) Demonstrating competency of standard Microsoft Office desktop utilities, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 3) Experiencing in the various working components of an electronic access control system and an intrusion detection system. 4) Reviewing designs; inspecting facilities where sensitive material will be located. 5) Developing and executing Crime Prevention Program for mission essential. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-07

Possess one full year of graduate level education

OR

Superior academic achievement

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

GS-09:

Possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Master's degree

OR

Obtained an LL.B. or J.D., that is related to the position being filled

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
